Good Times.. Great People.. One Love Family…

hey all,

really quick post to let you all know we have been hanging out in the one love chat room with momma j the past few nights.. we have been having fun.. telling stories… praying… thinking of chi.. etc.. hope to have more of you all join us…

also… after our chat session i spoke with momma j on the phone.. i also had them hold the phone up to chi’s ear and talked to him for awhile… and he was trying to say so much… we couldn’t quite make it out.. but it was clear he had something to say! momma j said he had kind of a rough week and had not been saying anything or trying to talk.. so it was good to hear him doing this last nite. momma j said he was doing better today… so keep the flow of healing and prayers going to our dear chi… progress ahead!

one love for chi,
gina

  1. Gina, you rock! can’t say much now…talking to you in the chat room again. this is addictive.Love our family!!

  2. Ah, the wonders of hi-tech and adding the chatroom to my computer desktop – makes it easy to pop in and check out the chit-chat in the chat room. :)

Also, happy to hear that Chi is doing better. It’s been a tough year, but we have never stopped thinking about our boy. Like I wrote in the chat yesterday, I am hoping that we can see each other in the chat a year from now, celebrating Chi’s recovery.

As always, One Love For Chi!

dear momma j, mae & chi
it breaks my heart to hear what struggles you have been having…but unfortunately, it doesn’t surprise me. the hospitals are supposed to know what is going on, but more often than not, they are either too busy or just clueless, most of chi’s care now will be just basically common sense, the stuff that you and mae are already doing!!! follow your heads and your hearts, the spacticity, thats the technical term, you are on the right track with, try and stay away from the muscle relaxers as much as you can, he will become dependent on them, and the massages and physical therapy will be much more helpful to him in the long run. they also will make him more tired, that is a major problem that sammie and i still deal with, the fatigue, she can go about 4 hours tops and then needs a nap. it’s just part of having a traumatic brain injury. but that is something you can work around. there will be times when chi doesn’t seem there, it’s his way of dealing w/things when it all becomes to overwhelming, sammie still has issues with this almost 7 years later, now when she gets bombarded, she just passes out…really inconvenient and sometimes extremely dangerous depending on where we are. the brain is a miraculous thing, they really have only skimmed the surface of what they know about it, so don’t worry, i know that’s easy for me to say, i worry everyday, but honestly, the brain will heal itself, it’s just going to take time. the game plan, which sounds like you are doing, must be keeping the infections away, that is the only way the brain can heal. the antibiotics take their toll on the kidneys and liver. i think the smartest thing you did was taking him home…please please please, be very careful with the chamber, everyone sees it as a miracle cure, and it can be, but it also has it’s own dangers…. you are always in my heart and prayers. much love, another mother who has been there, stephanie

  4. so happy to hear chi is doing better. i’ll try to get into the chatroom more often, our timezones don’t really match and when i’m on it’s usually empty. when are you most often on?

and how do i add it to the desktop?

anyways, reading this made me happy and proud for chi. don’t give up brother. the words are just gonna burst out anyday now.

much much love to chi and the whole family

    • For users of Windows, this won’t be a problem.
Right-click your desktop and select “Properties”, then select “Desktop”, “Customize Desktop”, and “Web”. There will appear a list of websites on your desktop – usually none at this point. Click “New” and copy the direct URL of the chatroom…

…then press OK and confirm the settings. And now the chatroom should appear on your desktop. Tell me how it went. :)
