i wish i had money to donate to you right now because i was telling my mom about your story the other day – pretty much start to finish – fuck i am 33 and she's known about the deftones as a band i would just get drunk to or go to a show and come home a lil bloodied or rocked out over the years and she never thought it more than a bout of good teenage angst and adrenaline type madness – but after i told her your story and meeting and interviewing you and the band back in 2000 round white pony release in NYC (back when i was a fledgling reporter and news correspondent for a nameless radio station here in the big apple) it brought a real tear to her eye to know that i wanted you to get better – not for the deftones, not for sake of nostalgia, but because i said to her – he is a good person and with the brief time i spent chatting and shooting the shit, music and the like, i knew – he had a good heart. good soul. that day impacted me. june 20th 2000. wish i could send cash man, but my family and my boy and a baby on the way (a girl kid!) – we are in dire straits. but i wish you the best. and want you to get better. and even my mom who nothing about the deftones or you minus that it brought madness to my life over the years shed a tear for you. get well, breathe and stay strong. if gina or your mom reads this to you then god bless them too. if not when you get out of this place, this fucked up dark place, i hope you read this shit and smile. thanks for bringing a smile to my face for years and years – still now – thru music and poetry. one day we have to share poems – i have a written a few and hope that the printed page is eaten alive by the conglomerate swine.
