I Talked To Chi…
hi all.. just wanted to touch base and let you know that chi is stable.. no longer in icu.. and is resting..
earlier today momma j held the phone up to chi’s ear so i could talk to him.. i told him how much we all loved him and how much love, support and prayers are being sent out to him from you all.. momma j said his eyes were open and focused on her when i was talking and he started moving his mouth..
she and i just now were exchanging texts and she said right now they are just sitting there watching eachother..
so.. let’s keep the prayers, healing energy and love flowing to him…
i will post more later..

Thinking a little… Chi has been out of ICU for two weeks now – wouldn’t it mean that he’s halfway through the time needed to get the bone flap back in place? Or if its six weeks…
Anyhow, glad to hear that Chi is getting better.
we aren’t sure when they will be putting it back in. they said before he would have to be infection free for 6 weeks but he did have an infection a few days back that they quickly treated with antibiotics.. so the 6 week clock has begun again.
when we know more we will share it here..

good to hear!im sure he is wanting to tell us all that he wants outta there!i was posting from my cell phone&it crashed but now i am able to check in everyday-got a computer@home!anywho…i am so stoked that Chi is outta ICU and trying to communicate!i have been going mad not being able to check in everyday and wish all the best for our brother Chi!i always keep him in my prayers-day&night!now if we could jus get him into that therapy!but at least he is progressing for the better and i am anticipating the day when when he gets the therapy&walking and talking and just being good ole stubborn Chi!until then i will wait and check in daily as usual!Chi wouldnt want us all to be thinking negative so i am jus keeping the good thoughts&positive energy flowing like he would want!keep up the good work Chi and know we are all here waiting for you-no matter how long it takes!thanks for the update gina-bet u cried when u got to hear him on the phone!tears of joy im sure!anywho…sending all my love&prayers to you Chi!xoxox love and blessings to mamma J and the rest of the cheng gang!

yay for chi!!! im hoping as well as everyone else that he is able to start the chamber in a couple of weeks. we all know that God is definitely on chi’s side and that he will be good as new by chamber time. we all just need to keep up on the praying for him and getting the word out about the site. thanks Gina for all the updates!!

Hi. I just heard about all this on 94.1 WJJO. I love the deftones but somehow I had no idea that any of this was going on. I’m glad to see that there’s been a lot of support for Chi from fans and other musicians. I hope he continues to improve. I would love to get some merchandise to help off-set costs and get the word out to other people by wearing a shirt or something else. I’ll definitely be back for more updates.

This is to Chi and Family…
I just wanted to let you guys know I first heard Deftones when I was 15 years old. I’m 24 now. I can remember going to school everyday listening to the ‘tones, checking the websight everyday for updates. I couldn’t get enough. The music meant, and still means so much to me. I remember seeing Deftones live for the first time on December 10th, 2004 in Kansas City. The tickets were my gift for graduation from my mom. They played with Thursday and Thrice. I can remember being so into the music, watching chi slam on the bass, hearing him scream with such emotion. Even before seeing them live I thought it was so cool seeing Chi’s dreads go back and forth as he was playing. I always watched Chi talk during interviews and was in such awe of how down to earth he seemed to be. I can’t remember when exactly I heard about the accident, but I know it was really soon after. But I just wanted to say that I know it’s been a long tough battle and I wish there was something that I could do to help. I have been praying, and I wish I could do more, and I just want you to know how much of an inspiration Chi has been to me, and I wanted to say thank you to him for that. Also, know that I will continue praying for him. I have nothing but hope that he will make it through this, along with his family. Thank you Chi.

That’s… More than I could ask for.
I’ve been listening to the Deftones cover of Drive, by the Cars, all night, it’s proven one of the most emotional pieces of music I’ve ever experienced. Better than the original.
I wish the best for Chi. I’ve tried to follow this site as best as I can. The RSS seems to miss a few things, but I still try to read the site itself.

I’m a huge Chino stan… But lately I’ve just wondered, how is Chi? I guess I got a little over excited with this entry. It’s an amazing step for Chi.
My grandmother just died of Leukemia. Its a loss for my entire family… It hurts, it does. But that;s another story.

I have been a fan for so many years now and Deftones has been the soundtrack to my life for as far back as I can remember – and through it all there was always you. Humble, casual, friendly and a humanitarian I looked up to. And I still do, more than ever.

Awesome news…..I can’t believe i haven’t heard anything about this until now. I was checking up on news of the Eros CD and i stumbled on the horrible news. Damn i am sorry this has happened to an amazing, selfless human being. I’m glad he is doing better though thats great news. I will be praying for him and his family. I was going to donate money but the f#@%ing government computers won’t let me access the necessary steps to do this. God bless
