Chi Did It Again!
hey all, (crying tears of joy!!!!)
chi did it again! he grabbed for his bedrail and succeeded and is holding on still! this is such great news!!! i talked to the new docs today and we discussed one of the medications chi is on that controls his episodes (he hasn’t had one for a long while since he has been home) and they told me they would be taking him off of that and had a better solution.. ironically enough this is the med that momma j had cut in 1/2 the other day when he first grabbed for the bedrail… and she cut it in 1/2 again today! here is a pic of him grabbing for the bedrail tonight.. and also momma j wanted to share some pics of chi too. the one with chi and momma j you can see chi trying to open his left eye… sweet progress. give thanks! and keep those blessings coming! love and happy holidays to you all our sweet one love family!
P.S. is it just me or does our brother look 10 years younger? he doesn’t have a wrinkle on his face!

This is such great news, i remember when i first heard the news about the accident, was devastating. Life kept running along and i rarely came here. But today i remembered to check how Chi is and what wonderfull news i found. Tears were coming to my eyes but im sitting in the office so i tried to contain myself. I seriously hope that he recovers fast.
I will be praying for him.

I wanted to write and give my best wishes and prayers for Chi. I remember in 1998 when the Deftones were on tour in Milwaukee and I saw Chi making a point to shake hands with fans and actually be a real good person to those around him. I was really young at the time, but it made a strong impression on me to see one of the members of the band that I love show real love to the fans.
I was a huge fan of the deftones before this and seeing how Chi was gracious and giving of his time made me a lifetime fan, not only of the band but of Chi as a person.
Often we hear of tragic stories effecting others and just brush it off. Celebrities get in trouble or get hurt and it is easy to brush it off. When I first heard about Chi’s accident it wasn’t something that could possibly be brushed off. I instantly went back to the moment in 1998 when I first saw Chi and my fond memories.
I don’t mean to write a novel here…. but my point is that Chi was more than just a guy in a band, he was a wonderful person and I am sure that thousands of other people have Chi stories just like mine all over the world. It was nice to see these pictures. He looks well and it is great to see he is making progress.

Thank you!!!! For showing a picture of my brother/idol Mr. Chi Cheng….I often sit here and wonder “What does Chi look like? Where does he sit all this time? I need a picture to the condition” and I got it! Chi looks good, you wouldn’t be able to tell anything happened him, except the fact that he lay in a hospital bed. I also see that Chi has lost crazy weight, but it was probably good for him, right before the accident, he and Chino were some big boys! haha, he’d probably laugh…..anyways, I’ll never stop thinking/praying for Chi, I play bass everyday for him! http://www.myspace.com/djinnband

I’ve only been so close to tears in my life a few times, but this situation really gets to me. Bad things happening to amazing people. I tend not to be emotional, but for something like, ill show it. Deftones are such a source for inspiration for me. I haven’t talked to God in a while, but for this man and the people around him.. I will. Please get well sir, and thank you for the years of entertainment and motivation you and your band have given us.
