MONDAY AGAIN. 5/18/09LAST NIGHT I WENT TO BED WITH MY BIBLE IN HAND. I HAVEN’T BEEN READING IT NEARLY AS MUCH AS WE ALL SHOULD TO HOLD TO THE TRUTH. AS IS OFTEN MY HABIT I OPENED IT TO A RANDOM PAGE AND LET MY EYES FALL ON THE PAGE TO READ. IT OPENED TO ROMANS12:10 which reads IN BROTHERLY LOVE HAVE TENDER AFFECTION FOR ONE ANOTHER. IN SHOWING HONOR TO ONE ANOTHER TAKE THE LEAD….BE AGLOW WITH THE SPIRIT. SLAVE FOR JEHOVAH. REJOICE IN THE HOPE. ENDURE UNDER TRIBULATION.PERSEVERE IN PRAYER….REJOICE WITH PEOPLE WHO REJOICE; WEEP WITH PEOPLE WHO WEEP. BE MINDED TO OTHERS AS TO YOURSELVES..
THAT WAS JUST A REASSURANCE OF WHAT WE WERE FEELING YESTERDAY. YOU AND I BOTH SLEPT WELL LAST NIGHT.
HOW WONDERFUL IT IS TO BE REMINDED THAT IF WE FEEL LIKE WE AREN’T AS CLOSE TO GOD AS WE SOMETIMES ARE THAT IT ISN’T GOD THAT MOVED. WE JUST GOT LOST FOR A MINUTE. SILLY ME! HE IS ALWAYS RIGHT THERE WAITING FOR ME TO GET PAST MY DISTRACTONS AND GRIEF. LIKE YOU,GINA, I WOKE UP WITH A GIDDY HIGH TODAY. I LEFT FOR THE HOSPITAL WITH A FEELING OF PEACE AND JOY. WHEN I GOT THERE DAI WAS BEING WHEELED TO HAVE ANOTHER BRAIN CT. THE LAST ONE SHOWED A SMALL CLOT ON THE BRAIN WHICH I DIDN’T MENTION TO YOU BECAUSE IT WAS SO INCIDENTAL IN THE BIG PICTURE OF THE SCARY LAST FEW DAYS. THAT IN ITSELF IS A REFLECTION OF HOW HARD IT HAS BEEN. A YEAR AGO, IF SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A BLOOD CLOT ON MY KIDS BRAIN, I WOULD HAVE BEEN THROWN INTO A STATE OF FEAR. NOW IF THE DOC SAYS THAT THERE IS A SMALL CLOT TO KEEP AN EYE ON I JUST THINK OK A LITTLE SURGERY CAN FIX THAT. I HAVE BEEN SO IN AWE OF THE FACT THAT DAI IS STARTING TO COMMUNICATE.. “I’M HOT.” SO SIMPLE. SO COMPLETE.
SO WE GO TO THE CT ROOM AND THEY DIRECT ME TO THE WAITING AREA ACROSS THE HALL. THERE IS ONE CHAIR BY A LADY DOING CROSSWORD PUZZLES. AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES THE FIRE ALARMS IN THE HOSPITAL ALL GO OFF AND PEOPLE START RUSHING AROUND. I’M THINKING THAT IT IS A DRILL AND WHY ARE THE STAFF PEOPLE LOOKING CONFUSED. THERE IS NO SMOKE SO IT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT AROUND HERE.. BUT THE PEOPLE ARE RUSHING TO THE HALL BY US. WHATEVER. THE CROSSWORD LADY OR SOMEONE COMMENTS ON IT AND IS TOLD THAT ONE OF THE MACHINES PROBABLY OVERHEATED. IN A FEW MINUTES THEY WHEEL DAI OUT AND FLAG ME. THE NURSE TELLS ME THAT THE ALARMS ARE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. WHEN THEY PUT DAI IN THE C T MACHINE, THE ALARM OVER THE MACHINE WENT OFF AND TRIGGERED ALL OF THE OTHERS. I LAUGH. THAT’S MY BOY! YOU ARE THE MAN, DAI. YOU LOOK MUCH BETTER BUT MAYBE YOU ARE STILL HOT. I LAUGH AGAIN AND GIGGLE INSIDE FOR A LONG TIME AT THE LIGHTER SIDE OF IT. TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY AND I PLAN TO MAKE EACH DAY A GOOD DAY FROM HERE ON. HOT OR COLD, RAIN OR SHINE. HAVING A GOOD DAY IS IN GREAT PART A CHOICE THAT WE MAKE. WHERE YOU FIND YOURSELF EACH DAY DOES NOT HAVE TO DETERMINE WHETHER YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY OR NOT. CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY. CHOOSE TO MAKE IT GOOD. TBIB-BIO GINA. FEEL FREE TO EDIT.

I love reading what you have posted Momma J over the last couple days! It is so great to hear how positive and upbeat you are…it keeps me positive too! And you are so right about choosing to make days great. HI EVERYONE!
MAMMAJ: So sorry I haven’t posted any updates on Marco. As you can well imagine, there’s been so much going on. Marco is still in ICU, still on the respirator, and fighting yet another infection. His vitals did improve for a couple of days, but they are kind of all over the place again, good & bad, then good, and today, not so good again. His heart & lungs are still weak, but today, they said they think his pneumonia is getting a little better finally. He is also fighting with some stomach/gastric issues that have the potential to be very problematic, so, of course, antibiotics & fluids are the order of the day, as usual. 2 days ago, he did groan in response to the pain stimulus tests they were doing, which gave us all quite a start! Doctors said that was a great sign & we are all beyond happy to hear that. The best thing I can say today is that HE IS STILL HERE, AND HE HASN’T GIVEN UP THE GOOD FIGHT YET, WHICH IS A BLESSING TO US ALL. The best thing he’s got going for him is that he is young, and before his accident was strong, athletic and fit, so that should all aid in his recovery.
MommaJ, I just want to say that I’ve been quite down and having such a difficult time with all of this, and your message today just lifted my spirits and reminded me that I cannot give in to the darkness. Thank you so much for that-what a wonderful example you are to all of us! And, my family would like to send you & your family much love, respect, & well wishes, and they’d like to thank you (AND EVERYONE ELSE) for keeping us in your thoughts & prayers! We still pray for Chi & your family every single time we pray for my brother, as if he & you were part of our own family.
Matt: you stay safe out there, man. Keep the faith, I pray for your safety and well being & safe return home. And, yeah, I think it’s way cool that your mom is checkin out this site too! HI MATT’S MOM!

It’s really good to hear from you on here. Thank you for the prayers…mean’s alot. We are still praying for your brother, he has also been included into my pre “mish” prayers as well, it’s turning into a long prayer now, I don’t finish until I am almost to the gate now! And ya, my mom is so cool!

Patricia, hang in there, we’re all with you too and keeping your brother in our prayers too. Your brother and Chi they are both fighters and will get out of this well in the end. It’s just a bump. Take care of yourself and thank you for the update, i think we all pretty much agree that your silence scared us a little. I don’t think i got a smile on my face before when hearing about a groan of pain. That is a good sign indeed.

I’m ecstatic to hear the latest news. Such positive energy and the feeling of ‘hope’ happening each day we wait for him to rise on his feet again. There is a reason for everything in life and the effect of Chi’s fans have showed much love and what we all can do for one awesome individual in a tragic moment of his life. I find it funny that Chi probably set off the fire alarms like a ‘Back to School’ prank after saying “I’m Hot”. That’s my bro and we all love you here in STL. One Love

It touches the heart how everyone is all united by the love for this person. I browse every now and then on this website to read the updates on our brother in a slumber, and I can feel positive energy. The Deftones have gotten me through a lot, the album Adrenaline has to be the most used background music through my meditations…
