HELLO GINA THIS IS SMOKEY, (CHI’S AUNT RENEE’S MAN)..I WANT TO SAY A FEW THINGS ABOUT CHI. I HAVE KNOWN RENEE FOR THE PAST 3 YRS. SHE IS A BEAUTIFUL PERSON, AND NOW I SEE WHY, CHI AND HIS WHOLE FAMILY FROM AUNTS TO UNCLES,-HIS MOM,-BROTHERS AND SISTERS,AND HIS COUSIN’S..ARE ALL GREAT PEOPLE…THE WHOLE FAMILY IS CARING .
I OFFICIALLY GOT TO MEET CHI LAST SEPT. RENEE AND I WENT TO VENTURA TO SEE THE TONES, YOU KNOW HOW THEY SAY THE 1ST IMPRESSION IS EVERYTHING? WELL MY 1ST IMPRESSION OF CHI WAS GREAT,I ALSO THOUGHT (ROCK STARS) DIDNT HAVE THE TIME OF DAY FOR YOU. HOWEVER TO MY IGNORANCE, CHI TOTALLY CHANGED THAT FOR ME… WHEN WE GOT THERE HE CAME RIGHT OUT TO THE CAR AND JUMPED IN WITH US, WE DIDN’T HAVE TO HUNT HIM DOWN, HE WAS RIGHT THERE WAITING FOR US, HE WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE HIS AUNT RENEE, IT WAS BEAUTIFUL.. I COULD TELL RIGHT AWAY THAT HE WAS A STAND UP GUY, AND THAT HIS HEART WAS AS BIG AS HE IS… WE PARKED THE CAR AND WENT TO STARBUCKS FOR SOME COFFE, ON OUR WAY IN EVERYONE WAS COMING UP TO HIM SAYING HELLO, CAN YOU SIGN THIS, CAN WE GET A PICTURE WITH YOU, THATS WHEN I REALIZED WHAT HE WAS ALL ABOUT!! HE TOOK THE TIME TO ANSWER AND ACKNOWLEDGE EVRYONE, TOOK PICS WITH FANS, SIGNED THIER STUFF, AND HE EVEN LOOKS YOU STRAIGHT IN THE EYE WHEN HE ASKS ABOUT YOU AND HOW THINGS ARE? AND HE F***IN MEANS IT…. WHAT A GUY!!! THEN CHI’S BROTHER CHI (PAK) AND HIS WIFE CARRIE SHOWED UP, ONCE AGAIN BEAUTIFUL KIND PEOPLE.. WE ALL HUNG OUT TOGETHER , LISTENED TO THE DEFTONES, IT WAS AWESOME…
AFTER THE SHOW WE ALL HUNG OUT UPSTAIRS IN CHI’S AREA WHERE (HE GETS READY FOR THE SHOW) ,AND WE ALL TALKED FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, (IT WAS LIKE I KNEW HIM FOR YEARS) WE ALL LAUGHED AND JOKED AND HAD AN AWESOME TIME, (CANT WAIT FOR THAT MOMENT AGAIN). WE WERE THERE FOR SO LONG THE JANITOR HAD TO KICK US OUT SO HE COULD LOCK THE PLACE UP, (AFTER HE TOLD US LIKE 3 TIMES TO GET OUT). THE NEXT TIME WE SAW CHI WAS IN THE HOSPITAL, FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE!! IT IS VERY SAD TO SEE BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE!! BUT HE IS A FIGHTER AND HE WILL (MAKE IT HAPPEN).
WHILE WE WERE VISITING HIM IN THE HOSPITAL, FIELDY FROM KORN CAME UP TO SEE HIM, AGAIN ANOTHER ROCK STAR WITH A HEART, (WHATS THIS WORLD COMING TO?) IT WAS AWESOME TO SEE FIELDY VISIT CHI, HE TOOK THE TIME OUT OF HIS BUSY LIFE TO SEE A BRO!! SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE GOT TO KNOW FIELDY ,(NOW I KNOW WHY HE AND CHI ARE GOOD FRIENDS, THEY ARE BOTH CARING PEOPLE WHO TRUST IN GOD, AND DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR OTHERS..) SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE KEPT IN TOUCH WITH FIELDY (WHO JUST LIVES COUPLE MILES UP THE ROAD FROM US) AND HE IS ALWAYS PRAYING FOR CHI AND ALL OF THE FAMILY… ON THIS PAST SUNDAY I WAS ON MY HARLEY RIDING WITH SOME BRO’S, AND WHEN WE GOT TO THE L.A. AREA I GOT 2 MESSAGES, ONE FROM RENEE CRYING AND UPSET THAT CHI WAS BACK IN I.C.U., AND THE OTHER A TEXT FROM FIELDY, SAYING THAT HE IS GETTING TOGETHER A SONG FOR CHI, THAT HE SAYS WILL BE DOPE!! THEY WILL HAVE 4 BASS PLAYERS, 4 GUITARS, 4 DRUMMERS, AND ALL MUSICIANS INVOLVED ARE GIVING UP ALL THE C.D. SALES TO CHI’S RECOVERY!!!!!!!! IT WILL ALSO BE FILMED!!!!!! HE WILL KEEP ME POSTED, AND I WILL LET YOU AND MOMMA J. KNOW AS SOON AS I HEAR FROM HIM…… WHAT A GUY !! GOD BLESS YOU FIELDY, AND EVERYONE WHO TAKES THE TIME TO PRAY AND DONATE TO CHI’S RECOVERY….

Korn & Deftones have always been my bands, I never would have made it this far without them & the music they create. It makes me so proud. Fieldy I knew you wouldn’t let us down, representing the children of the KORN! The awsome man he has become makes me even prouder to say Korn will always be my heart, & I am so happy for ALL of us to come together for Chi, at a time when it needs to be done!
I am just a little sad it has to be under such horrible circumstances. But we will Make it Happen! Chi we are all here, & I know you can feel it, all we ask for in return is you to be the strong, fighting & loving man you are & heal, no rush, just heal.

I am a little confused, where do Deftones stand in all of this. I have not heard anything but them touring??? I understand the show must go on…… but there is no forgeting how you got the show.

Hey, been a deftones fan since they only had one album out, and I hate to hear this. The last time I seen the deftones was at the Madison in Northern KENTUCKY and at bogarts IN cincinnati, a couple a years ago, they played some small clubs inbetween big gigs, well anyway, I would imagine that the deftones are still honoring chi as a member by going out and working and I WOULD HOPE (don’t know) that he would still get his money from the shows they are playing and that in turn helps CHI and his family financially, I been a deftones fan and will still be a deftones fan I got to talk to chi at bogarts for a little while and this NASTY chick was going around getting all the deftones to sign her ass and she planned to get it tatted on later, but chi wouldnt do it IT WAS HILARIOUS all the other guys would go down in history in this chicks life of touching that nasty ass BUT NOT CHI he had class.LOL ah…..THIS FUCKING SUCKS
