There's a young woman at my school who navigates with a white cane. Once during lunch, she knocked into the this tray that collects all the refuse and drippings from the soft-serve machine. I was sitting right there, so I jumped up and grabbed a fistful of napkins and started cleaning everything up for her. I offered her some napkins in case she had any on her (she did not), and she asked me what she ran into, so I told her. She seemed kind of startled and embarrassed by the whole thing, so she walked off. I finished cleaning the floor as best as I could before informing the cafeteria staff (the floors are carpeted). I wanted to help her (for obvious reasons), and I wanted to make sure nobody else stepped in anything, because the carpets can get very slick. I also didn't want the staff persons to bear the brunt of the mess (I worked at a theater cleaning messes, and I know how much of a pain they are).

When I was done, I sat back down and continued my conversation with my friends. They seemed very glad to have me around.

I would like to thank you Gina and family for making this site and keeping us all updated. I pray all the time for Chi (I'm not a religious person). If I could take a few years off my life and give it to him so that he could be okay again, I would do so in a heartbeat.

I heard a woman at the end of the long line at the post office say that she only needed one stamp to mail a letter. I glanced back and saw that she had an infant and 2 toddlers in tow. I couldn't let her wait with 3 little ones for ... how long? 20, 30 or 40 minutes? So I handed her a stamp on my way out. She looked like she had been given a million bucks!

I play in a rock band full time...we tour pretty much non stop except for this month has been slow and money has been very short. I've been trying to direct my life in an anti-materialistic direction and fully enveloping myself in my music and nothing else. I'm the drummer for my band. Well, I had totally ran out of money for the month about 2 weeks ago and rumors had spread through friends that all of us in the band were doing very bad financially. Last week at a show a fan/friend gave me $10 because she had heard how much of a bad month we had been having. I didn't want to take it, but she wouldn't let me not take it. It made me realize that there are times when you need to open your arms and warm your heart up to helping someone in need. We're all in the same boat, or have been at one time.

From what I have read about Chi and his personality and this website in general, it is all about kindness and positive energy and it has all really changed me from being a struggling and impatient musician to learning to be content with the struggle and happy for what I have instead of upset over what I don't have. Maybe instead of trying to escape negative situations, we should be trying more to turn our negative situations into positive situations.

I always opens the and holds the door for anyone in my vincitnnity, at school, at shaws, hospitals, etc. I also always hold up a line so people can get in in my school cafetaria. I had to stop though because a teacher got mad for some unpolite reason.
All in it's self, listening to chi's riffs along with the whole deftones is a huge act of kidness. They all to me have meaning, unlike alot of otheer bands. I think it is the raw emotion in the songs that make them so worth while to own and to listen to.
BTW: This year I am going to try to promote OneLoveForChi at my school's by singing a song like hole in the earth orBeware.
Many blessings to you, your family, all of those who need someone to care for them, or help them

This website in itself is an act of kindness, not random, but still an act of kindness. Gina, you are a great person for putting this together for chi, im sure you have gotten much thanks, but i just want to say its so awesome that you put this site together, look at what youve acomplished so far, its so great. You gave people the chance to do an act of kindness by donating whatever they can. You cant be thanked enough, bless you.
One love for chi!!!

Awhile back I did the smallest of kindnesses that came back to me so many times it left me smiling all day.

I pulled up behind a line of cars at a traffic light. Someone coming from the opposite direction wanted to turn left into a driveway that I was blocking. I backed up so he could make his turn, and he gave me the 'thank you' wave and a smile. So did the next person, and the next, and the next. (Busy place, huh?) It went on continuously til the light changed.

All those smiles and waves just cheered me immensely! It was such a small kindness I did in backing my car up. It's the kind of thing most of us do and don't think about it again. But that stream of 'thank you's' gave me such a boost, I have a new awareness of the power of appreciation.

Couple of weeks ago I was at a bank on business, and I saw a blind person walk in looking for Der Weinerschnitzel. The bank manager escorted the lady out and I assumed she attempted to guide her in the right direction. When I exited the bank, the lady was wandering and trying to find her way and was kind of stuck in an area with no outlet. Even though I was with clients, I excused myself, walked over to the lady and asked if she needed help. She asked me to point her in the right direction. Instead, I offered to walk her to Der Weinerschnitzel, which was on the other side of the shopping center. As I walked her, I explained what areas she was crossing, what directions to move so that the next time, she'd be able to find her way much easier. I didn't think much about what I was doing, cuz it just had to be done. But what did draw my attention was how people looked at me oddly because I was helping a homeless blind woman. When did we stop doing the things that need to be done?

My family will continue to intention the highest good for you and your family. Many blessings.

One love to all!

While in line at Dollar Tree, I only had two things in my cart; the line was really slow and long, and an older gentleman in front of me had his arms full of kitty litter, food stuffs, and misc items. I asked him if he would like to put his things in my cart, which he happily did....
Karma smiled on me minutes later when we reached the front of the line; the gentleman was so grateful, he gave the checker two extra dollars to pay for my two items. The checker was so blown away, she asked if we knew each other; he replied, "no, but she let me put my things in her cart so I'm just returning the favor; it's the way things are supposed to be."
I hugged him and thanked him; it goes to show you, you don't have to do something big, to make a big difference for somebody.
