Response From Momma J…
our dearest Gina n Ryan,
What a week! I have so much to share also. Right now I am emotionally recovering from a talk with John Keller. I know that you will be explaining how God’s intervention put you and then me in touch with John, who was in a coma for 11 months and sounds so perfectly fine now. To think that his accident was only 8 months earlier than Dais brought me to tears. His family never doubted his recovery.
(Hey Matt, I see you on the map.)
When I got off of the phone, I opened the Sunday paper and Parade magazine fell out. On the front cover was a picture of Bob Woodruff who suffered a Tramatic Brain Injury in Iraq. The article tells of how we now know that much of what was accepted as fact with TBI’s is now seen in a new light with agressive therapy and patients who are recovering against the odds.
The state of Texas, where John was blessed with proper treatment and therapy, is the only state in our nation that mandates insurance reimbursement for cognative therapy following brain injury.
Chi has his 39th birthday in a few days (July 15) and I wish that you would ask everyone tht you know to pray that he can get out of this hospital and into an EXCELLENT rehab hospital such as the one in Los Angeles. It does agressive physical therapy. It is called Rancho Los Amigos, but you may have to be an LA resident to be accepted. I’m thinking that the wonderful one in Texas may have a similar stipulation, although I would try to get him there in a heartbeat. There is also a great one very near in San Jose where his bone flap is. That would be a blessing too. PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM TO BE ACCEPTED INTO A REHAB HOSPITAL THAT WILL GIVE HIM WHAT HE NEEDS. His insurance will not cover it and it is so costly.
He has been turned down at all of the facilities we applied for because his insurance will not cover it.Aftra insurance is the company so many entertainers carry and it will not provide him with the rehab he needs. Grrr!!
I know that God will intervene and that he hears our prayers. PLEASE CONTINUE TO HOLD HIM IN PRAYER TO SEE HIM INTO AN AGRESSIVE PHYSICAL THERAPY HOSPITAL. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR LOVING SUPPORT!
Our love and gratitude to you all!
Mom Jeanne

I think about him more than once a day, I also have been checking this website dayly, hoping to hear of some recovery. And Gina, Momma J, I must thank you so mutch for the updates and keeping in touch and the sharinglungs messageboard.
I have been into a coma for a short time a couple of years ago and got out well, after some stuggles. I hope for Chi that he will awake soon.
I will sure keep praying.
Peace, Koen
Just wondering you if all have looked into the State Medicare/MediCal for any assistance . . not sure if that helps or not, but give it a try. Or maybe a Medical Univerisity or Medical Research Group that would be interested in studying his case.
As always, I heart beats for Chi, Family and Friends!!
Please read the following article about TBI treatment at the Cleveland Clinic – maybe they could help Chi. Much love to Chi and his family – hang in there and never stop fighting. Miracles happen everyday – you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Still working on other things! More to come!
